About Me

that’s me!

“Say what you mean, mean what you say, & don’t say it mean”

Heather Carter (my mom)

So that’s me, fresh off the plane and ready for my first mission trip in Poland. Only 16 years old and so ready explore this great big world God so fearfully and wonderfully made. It’s almost exactly a year later, I am now 17, going on 18 this next month, and boy does the girl in this photo have so much growing and learning to do in the next year. I never thought I would be writing a blog, but after everything I have learned through lots of chaos and heartbreak this past year, I thought it would be a shame to let all that knowledge go to waste. So here I am, completely unqualified and completely ready to share everything I have come to learn these past few months. There are plenty of truths in what I have to say, and a lot of it comes from the heart, but a good chunk of it was advice from my mom (such as the quote above), pinterest quotes, and the book of truths, the Bible. I am not in any way saying I am right about everything or offering an elixer to a perfect, happy, carefree life, but I do believe practicing some of the things I write about can lead you to live a happier life. Tested and proven effective by yours truly. Now that the disclosure is out of the way, here are a few facts about me…

  • I’m from Springfield, Illinois (Lincoln!) and I have lived here my whole life
  • I love iced coffee (who doesn’t at this point??)
  • I have two older brothers and two cats. Sunnyday and April. (those are the cats’ names by the way, not the brothers)

  • Summer is my favorite season
  • Ice cream is and will always be the best desert.
